Historical Background

The Psychiatry Department was established in 2005 E.C. to address the growing need for mental health services. Since its inception, it has evolved into a leading unit providing comprehensive care for individuals with mental illness, aiming to restore their functionality. A key achievement over the years has been the addition of inpatient services to enhance patient care.

Yearly Performance

Each year, the department provides services to a significant number of patients, including:

  • 173 emergency cases
  • 235 inpatient admissions
  • 4,979 outpatient consultations

Qualifications & Number of Health Professionals

The department is staffed with a skilled team of mental health professionals, including:

  • 1 Psychiatrist
  • 2 MSc Psychiatry professionals
  • 10 BSc Psychiatry professionals
  • 1 Health Psychologist
  • 1 Psychiatry Nurse

Facilities & Equipment

  • 20 beds are available in the department, with 5 beds allocated for female patients.
  • Outpatient services are available for follow-up care.

      • Outpatient Services: Weekdays: 8 hours per day
      • Emergency & Inpatient Services: Available 24/7

  • Short-term plan: Expanding services to include addiction rehabilitation services and establishing private wing wards.
  • Long-term plan: Mobilizing NGOs and other stakeholders to build a dedicated addiction rehabilitation center in the compound behind the current ward, enabling us to serve more clients.
