The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health was established in May 22, 2022 G.C. to address the growing need for quality of service in primary health care, preventive and continuity of care. Since its inception, it has evolved into a leading unit providing comprehensive care in individuals of all age groups and sex. The department serves patients from catchments of ALERT Comprehensive specialized Hospital.

Each year, the department/directorate achieves significant milestones, including:

  • 2,600 Clients in Health Literacy Unit
  • 79,200 Clients in Central Triage
  • 60,000 Clients in medical screening
