ሙሉ በሙሉ በኢትዮጵያውያን ስፔሻሊስቶች የተመራ ቡድን በ42 ዓመት ዕድሜ ያላቸው የደረጃ 4 የአፍና የታችኛው መንጋጋ ካንሰር ታካሚ ላይ 16 ሰዓታት የፈጀ የCOMMANDO (Combined Mandibulectomy and Neck Dissection Operation) ቀዶ ሕክምናን በስኬት አከናውኗል።
ከካንሰሩ ማስወገድ በኋላ የተፈጠረው ሰፊ የአካል ክፍተት በሁለት የነፃ ንቅለ ተከላ (Free Flaps) ከእግርና ከጭን በተወሰዱ አካላት በማይክሮሰርጀሪ ቴክኒክ በስኬት ተመልሶ ተገንብቷል።
ታካሚዋ ቀዶ ሕክምናውን በተሳካ ሁኔታ አጠናቅቃ በአሁኑ ወቅት በፅኑ ሕሙማን ክፍል (ICU) በቅርብ ክትትል ላይ ትገኛለች።
ቀዶ ሕክምናው በዶ/ር አብዱረዛቅ አሊ መሐመድ፣ ዶ/ር እንዳለ ከፋለ እና ዶ/ር ናርዶስ ተድላ የተመራ ሲሆን፣ ከ25 በላይ የፕላስቲክ ሰርጀሪ ስፔሻሊስቶች፣ ሬዚደንቶች፣ የማደንዘዣ ባለሙያዎች፣ ነርሶች፣ የICU ባለሙያዎች እና ሌሎች የጤና ባለሙያዎች በተቀናጀ የቡድን ሥራ አስተዋፅኦ አድርገዋል።
ይህ ታሪካዊ ስኬት አለርት ኮምፕሪሄንሲቭ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል ከፍተኛ ውስብስብ የካንሰር ማስወገድና የመልሶ ግንባታ ቀዶ ሕክምናዎችን በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ማከናወን የሚያስችል የሰው ኃይል፣ ዕውቀት፣ መሠረተ ልማት እና የብዙ ዘርፍ ትብብር አቅም እንዳለው በተግባር ያረጋግጣል።

A Landmark 16-Hour Reconstructive Microsurgery Successfully Performed at ALERT Comprehensive Specialized Hospital
ALERT Comprehensive Specialized Hospital has achieved another major milestone in advanced surgical care by successfully performing a highly complex 16-hour reconstructive microsurgery for a 42-year-old woman with Stage IV cancer involving the lower jaw and oral cavity.
The procedure included a COMMANDO (Combined Mandibulectomy and Neck Dissection Operation) to remove the cancer, followed by an intricate reconstruction using two free tissue flaps harvested from the patient’s leg and thigh. The surgery restored the lower jaw, oral cavity, lower lip, cheeks, chin, and neck through advanced microsurgical techniques.
The operation was performed entirely by an Ethiopian multidisciplinary surgical team led by Dr. Abdurezaq Ali Mohammed, Dr. Endale Kefale, and Dr. Nardos Tedla, with the participation of more than 25 specialists, including plastic surgeons, residents, anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, ICU professionals, and other healthcare experts.
The patient successfully completed the operation and is currently recovering under close observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
